I have spent a couple of sunny October afternoons painting & sketching in Denmans Garden inspired by the wonderful colours of Autumn & am absolutely delighted to be following in Sue England’s footsteps as Denmans second artist in residence.
Denmans is a beautiful contemporary country garden sheltered by the South Downs. It was originally created by Joyce Robinson & later became the home & garden of John Brookes MBE one of Britain’s most influential landscape designers. It is now owned by Gwendolyn van Paasschen who continues to renovate this magical garden.
I am very excited to have this amazing opportunity to spend a year visually exploring & recording Denmans as it changes throughout the seasons.
